This flip book is a frame-by-frame recreation of a short video entitled "Rarely Seen Bas Jan Ader Film" that was posted to Youtube in 2007 and quickly removed due to an anonymous third party complaint. The film was supposedly recovered from Bas Jan Ader's UC Irvine locker after he was mysteriously lost at sea in 1975. David Horvitz' book poignantly mythologizes Ader's disappearance as it chronicles the movements of a figure riding a bicycle into the ocean waves and slowly flickering out of sight.
